Weekly Log

  • March 19-23
    • Asked for any pertinent issues from the staff and students.
    • Staff really wants tutorials on computer basics (ie. flash drive usage, internet safety, etc.)
    • Decided that we still need a viable solution to the document storage problem.
    • Began research and looking into content filtering for the online browsing.
    • Researched fireboxes:
      • Seems outdated, and it's quite expensive ($1000+)
    • Discovered a problem on Comp 6 where msword opens to a student's document instead of opening to a blank document. Fixed.
  • March 26-30
    • Settled times with Bob on tutorials for the week following break. We can give the tutorials at our normal arrival times

      • Firefox navigation
      • Internet browsing techniques (i.e. search engines, pop-ups, etc.)
      • Student folders on server
      • anti-virus, spyware detectors, and automatic updating

      • Unveiled it on Thursday by Kevin and Ryan
  • April 16-20
    • Fixed Microsoft Word so that it's default save location is the network folder.
    • Finished up a few tutorials (gave to the kids who missed last week).
    • Took a look in the science room at their lack-of-router situation.
      • Wasn't familiar with the router that was in there, must give another look.
  • April 23-27
    • Kids were in DC, we determined we had nothing of substance to perform to the school so we decided not to go.
